One for the Books: Crossing Two Continents in Istanbul

My Spontaneous Trip to Turkey.

Visiting Turkey is one for the books. You have to go visit at least once in your life.

Crossing two continents - Europe and Asia - within minutes via the Bosphorus bridge was the most exhilarating experience, EVER!

This trip was spontaneous. I booked my hotel after landing in Turkey through Expedia, which I don't recommend. For any unplanned solo trip, I highly recommend getting your hotel and tour packages by the airport because it is safer, you can customize your plans, 4/5 star hotel option deals and a lot cheaper.

However, my private tour guides were very accomodating. I booked this tour right after booking my hotel. I had one tour guide at night and another one for the following day. They were patient and helpful. You might think it's scary touring alone, but I felt safe.

What I love about my tour guides:
  1.  They gave me time to enjoy each destination.
  2. They respected my personal space.
I think that's the reason why I enjoyed my spontaneous trip to Turkey.
  • What to bring: Lots of cash. Open your mind, be curious and don't forget to bring  your adventurous self.
  • What you need: For Canadians, you'll need a Turkish visa. I got mine at the airport on arrival or you can get it in advance online: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/
  • Travel Agency at Ataturk Airport: Turkey Tours Istanbul
